What I Talk About When I Talk About G*d

One of my favorite topics of conversation is Spirituality. Not everyone is open to it, but if I’m at a party, you can bet I’ll find the guest who is: someone willing to lean in, ask questions, and explore together.
In fact, Devotion Studio began with a question: How would an Atheist connect to Spirit?
For me, the answer has always been simple: awe and wonder.
We don’t need to subscribe to a religion, a doctrine, or even believe in a Higher Power to recognize how incredible this life is. At Devotion Studio, every session begins with a guided meditation. We ground into the earth, our home planet, and then expand into the cosmos, the home of earth. Just this small shift in perspective can reorient the way we see ourselves: tiny creatures living on a great big planet, that planet itself just a speck in infinite space.
And when we pause to really connect to that truth? We can all agree... it’s pretty awe-some.
This sense of wonder is where the doorway opens. Sessions at Devotion Studio are an invitation to step into the unseen vastness around us, to humbly place ourselves within that mystery, and to let the body feel the journey. Many clients describe sensations of traveling—of being guided by an inner vision. Some feel it in their bodies, others “see” images with their mind’s eye.
For me, this is what I mean when I talk about G*d. Not a figure, not a dogma, but a vastness, something both within us and beyond us, that reminds us how extraordinary it is to simply exist here, now.
At Devotion Studio, I hold space for that kind of connection. Whether you call it Spirit, Source, Universe, or simply awe, the experience is the same: a moment of wonder, a journey into stillness, and a reminder that we belong to something greater.
